Nitrogen is a vital component in many of the winery’s operations as a shield against oxidation:
Injecting low pressure nitrogen directly into the wine, through pipes connected to the tank is used to remove dissolved oxygen in wine and can be repeated in phases depending on desired results.
Injecting nitrogen into the tank headspace to displace the oxygen between the wine and the top of the tank.
Nitrogen can be used in many phases during bottle filling such as:
- Flushing empty bottles to remove impurities and dry out any residue of washing water
- Injecting nitrogen in upper side of bottle filling machine’s tank
- Injecting nitrogen before wine filling to reduce oxygen percentage in bottles
